Training for members and associates

As a member or associate of the University of Wuppertal, you can make a significant contribution to university-wide information security by acting carefully and observing certain basic rules. We count on your support - please take advantage of the training and advice we offer!

Working together for information security: regular manager training

To ensure that we can all work together to keep information secure, it is important to know what protective and emergency measures need to be taken. Regular briefings are designed to provide you with a basic understanding and explanation of these measures.

Managers have a particularly important role to play here, as they also act as role models. They ensure that information security is practised in their area of responsibility and raise awareness among employees (see Chapter 5 Responsibilities, Guideline on Information Security).

To actively support you:

  • We provide mandatory training once a year for persons with a high-level management function (Deans, Heads of Departments, Heads of Central Facilities) and Information Security Coordinators.
  • We provide you with a training template in the form of a PowerPoint presentation in both English and German. This also includes helpful notes for training within your department.
  • We are also working on providing you with a training video in the future.

The information security training takes about 30 minutes. You are welcome to combine it with the annual health and safety training to minimise the burden on you and your staff. You can use attendance lists to document attendance.

Note: The templates are only available to members of the University of Wuppertal via the internal server. Please download them at your workstation or via VPN.
